Mary Howard is a figurative artist who paints primarily in acrylics. She currently resides in Northeastern Oklahoma with her family and is of Native American descent. Her tribe is the Muscogee Creeks of Oklahoma.

Feeling restrained by the boundaries of her formal training in graphic design , she ventured out on her own and chose to focus on her first love...fine art.

She prides herself on being primarily self taught and feels uninhibited by technical standards, painting what is most important to her and how she feels.

Her subject matter consists of her life experiences andheritage. She enjoys painting the animals that represent the different clans from her tribe. Mary also takes great pleasure in painting children with their uncompromised innocence. Her true passion is creating a timeless depiction of feminine sensuality within her portraits of women. With her paintings she hopes to convey a deep feeling of appreciation from a simplistic element which can be enjoyed by all.

Mary has participated in a variety of shows throughout the central United States and continues to expand her client base. She has won numerous awards although takes greater pride in the recognition of the individual purchases of her work.

Mary feels a great deal of satisfaction when people who view her work, and for a moment recognize the

"appreciation of uncompromised simplicity".
